About Lyon Sharpening Service

I had the honor of serving in the US Navy from 1988 to 1992. I was deployed in the Gulf War as a Machinist Mate on steam powered ships and am proud of my time representing this great country. I look forward to bringing the same dedication to my craft at Lyon Sharpening Service, where I specialize in clipper blade sharpening, cutlery sharpening, and shear sharpening to provide you with the best quality possible.

I believe that the best way to provide top-tier service is to invest in the best training and education. I received shear sharpening training with Bonnie Megowan at Bonika Shears, and have been trained in clipper blade sharpening techniques, as well as on the Hira-To Flat Hone Sharpener, Nebraska Blades Clipper Blade Sharpener, and Tormek T8 Water Cooled Sharpening System, which also enhances my skills in cutlery sharpening.

Based on my training and experience in clipper blade sharpening, I also qualify for two important professional groups in the sharpening field. I maintain membership in both the International Scissor Sharpeners Association and the National Beauty Sharpeners Guild, which emphasizes my expertise in cutlery sharpening and shear sharpening.
